The Veterinarian operates an effective and productive veterinary medical team, advocates for Pets, educates clients on all aspects of Pet health, ensures a safe and effective hospital environment, and improves both the medical quality and business performance of the hospital. Duties and Responsibilities:- Develop an efficient, productive veterinary medical team that provides the highest quality care and service to Pets and clients. Follow the Cycle of Service and communicate with the other Team Members to maintain the flow of patients to maximize quality medical care and productivity.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, Pet health needs, any diagnosis or treatment, hospital services and other related information. Coach paraprofessional team to provide such education.
- Ensure the safety of Pets, clients and Team Members by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols, and maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs.
- Select, train and supervise the paraprofessional team to ensure quality medical care, exceptional client service and maximum productivity and to enable Team Members to grow and develop professionally within the Practice.
- Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service including prescribing and administering preventative care for the wellness needs of Pets and diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries of Pets.
- Manage the profitability of the hospital to ensure consistent growth and improvement.
- Ensure all Practice policies, protocols and Quality Assurance guidelines and local, state and federal laws are followed, including proper maintenance of the controlled substance inventory log.
- Obtain relevant information and history from clients, and maintain proper and complete medical records.
