    The Veterinary Pathologist will evaluate, interpret and report anatomic pathology data derived from preclinical safety studies under the requirements of GLP.  This position will work closely with Study Directors and other Scientists within SNBL USA and our clients.     Applicants must be graduates or currently enrolled students in an accredited registered veterinary technology program.  Applicants must receive a negative TB test, have a current rabies vaccine, be able to work in extreme weather conditions, and be able to repeatedly lift at least 50 lbs. Gain first-hand experience under the supervision and apprenticeship of veterinary staff in all aspects of veterinary technology in zoological medicine and surgery, including immobilization procedures, anesthesia, radiography, preventative health, phlebotomy & more. The internship is UNPAID & does not provide transportation assistance.  Housing assistance may be available.     Duties and Responsibilities: Provides fresh feed and water, provides animal husbandry and care for a variety of laboratory animal species, primarily rodents. performs cage changes and animal room sanitation procedures. Recognizes normal clinical appearance and behavior of animals and reports any concerns to the veterinary staff or designate. Recognizes normal environmental room parameters (e.g., humidity, temperature, air flow, light levels, etc.) and reports abnormal conditions to the appropriate individual. Assists with the care and maintenance of in house rodent breeding colonies including but not limited to breeding and weaning animals, animal identification procedures, collecting tissue for genotyping, animal dosing by various routes, animal euthanasia, post-operative care, and maintaining computer based breeding records.
