An outstanding individual is sought to initiate new programs of physiology research (70%) and teaching (30%). We anticipate that research approaches would likely emphasize molecular, cellular, genomic, or proteomic tools and techniques but appreciation of whole-animal responses are also necessary. Intended research emphasis on dairy animals is required and experience with dairy cattle is highly desirable. Expectations include teaching of either undergraduate and/or graduate physiology courses. The major responsibility is the establishment and maintenance of an extramurally funded research program with scholarship excellence. The capacity to attract successful graduate students and active research collaborations is critical. · Conduct product training and selling skills at distributor inside telesales centers in assigned region on a quarterly basis. This will include training of existing products, new products and of execution of sales programs in place.
· Conduct distributor ride-withs in assigned region with top 15 sales volume representatives on a quarterly basis.
· Supports all distributor sales representatives in assigned region through methods other than ride-withs, such as but not limited to: voice-mails, e-mails, scheduled group lunch or dinner meetings, etc.
· Identifies, in cooperation with distributor sales representatives, key accounts in which to gain product placement. These accounts may include large veterinary clinics, veterinary schools, research facilities or any other facility in which a veterinarian is on staff.
· Obtains invitation or commitment for participation at all distributor sales meetings in assigned region. Attends and conducts training at all distributor sales meetings.
· Conduct product-training seminars for veterinarians, hospital staff at territorial veterinary association meetings and in hospital meetings.
· Participate in national and regional trade shows.
· Responsible for the drafting and presentation of the following plans and reports:
· Annual regional sales plan to include planning calendar for distributors in assigned region
· Weekly activity reports
