The Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) seeks a dynamic, persuasive, team-oriented fundraising professional who will develop, implement, direct, and manage a private sector fundraising program, in support of the AAVMC mission, programs, initiatives, and activities. The Director will research and establish funding opportunities with industry, government, foundations, individuals, and other stakeholders in global veterinary medical education and workforce; lead individual, corporate, and foundation giving campaigns; and track and manage donations in a development database. Requirements for the position include at least 10 years experience and a proven track record in creating and implementing an effective and successful development strategy, and in securing major gifts from a variety of sources. The successful applicant will bring demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with diverse constituencies and potential funding sources that include foundations, institutions, industry, corporations, governmental agencies, and others. The Director will work well in highly collaborative environments, be experienced with crafting and delivering successful communications strategies, and excel under deadlines and performance expectations. A bachelor’s degree is required, masters preferred. Experience with an animal or human health care field is preferable.
