The successful applicant must have a veterinary degree and a postgraduate qualification that allows for registration as a Specialist in small animal surgery in NSW.

The Valentine Charlton Cat Centre, which opened in 2004, has gained international recognition as a state-of-the-art feline referral facility, generating large clinical research output and offering residency training programs in feline medicine. The $2.8 million Canine Centre opened in early 2008 and presents as one of the most sophisticated teaching hospitals in the country. New equipment acquisitions include MRI, CT, computed radiography and videoendoscopy. The hospital is supported by an extensive range of specialist staff in orthopaedic surgery, diagnostic imaging, medicine, neurology, dermatology and ophthalmology.

Veterinary Technician Job duties: Assist team leader in obtaining blood samples and vaccinations, as well as other basic aspects of animal testing and departmental procedures; Animal care and health observation of the various animal species; Change/clean cages according to established procedures and schedules; Feed and water animals; Assist department technicians in testing procedures; Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and associated documentation.
