The candidates of this position will locate in the Animal Research Facility (ARF). The responsibilities are daily care and maintenance of laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning of cabinets and sinks, sprays washing of walls, cleaning of equipment and facilities, preparing special feeds, giving medications and monitoring post-surgical animals, recognizing and reporting disease or abnormal activity in the animals, preparing special feeds, overseeing animal breeding programs, handling and restraining hard-to-control animals, recording daily temperature and room conditions and removal or addition of animals.
Requirements: Applicants must meet the current published and VA qualification standards for the position Qualification standards are available for review in Human Resources; Must pass pre-employment examination; Background and/or Security Investigation required; Must have status of being a government or previous government employee; submit a copy of your latest SF50 (Notification of Personnel Action) and/or
be a Veteran and submit a copy of your DD-214.
