    Under the direction of the Surgical Research Supervisor, the Surgical Research Technologist is responsible for assisting with pre-operative and surgical care of large laboratory animals. Incumbent also assists with post-operative care and general animal health. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing animals for surgery, cleaning the surgical suite, maintaining anesthesia throughout cases, sterilizing and packing instruments, and maintaining records and supplies. Requirements: Associates or Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Science, or related field required. Minimum of one year operating room experience, including large or small animal anesthesia, preferred, but not required. AAALAS certification at LAT or LATg preferred Duties and responsibilities: Performs animal surgical support for surgical procedures and routine operating functions.
