Effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with large groups, media and citizens; effective conflict resolution, multi-tasking, and managing non-routine or emergency circumstances. Ability to prepare and oversee staff training and to accurately recognize, diagnose, and treat illnesses injuries, and diseases in a variety of domestic animals.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of related experience with animal shelter experience preferred. Current State of Texas Veterinary Medicine license required Texas Class C driver’s license with no major violations within the past 3 years.
