We anticipate that research approaches would likely emphasize molecular, cellular, genomic, or proteomic tools and techniques but appreciation of whole-animal responses are also necessary. Intended research emphasis on dairy animals is required and experience with dairy cattle is highly desirable. Expectations include teaching of either undergraduate and/or graduate physiology courses. The major responsibility is the establishment and maintenance of an extramurally funded research program with scholarship excellence. The capacity to attract successful graduate students and active research collaborations is critical. Candidates must function in a team setting and integrate into the fabric and community of the department and college. Multidisciplinary collaboration with scientists in other departments such as Animal and Poultry Science and the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine is anticipated. Required Qualifications Minimum qualifications and experience for this position are a doctorate in Dairy/Animal/Veterinary Science, Biological Sciences or related areas. Evidence of excellent research, communication and teamwork skills is essential. For appointment at the Associate Professor level, individuals will be expected to have a previously established competitive externally funded research program and a documented record of productivity, as well as sustained creativity demonstrated by grant support and research accomplishments.
