<p>Tasks and Duties: Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times. This includes performing procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance, completing preparatory work for other procedures, ensuring that clients and Pets are comfortable in the hospital, and monitoring hospitalized or surgical Pets; Act as the extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian to ensure the best quality Pet care and to maximize the veterinarian&#8217;s productivity; Obtain relevant information and history from clients and maintain proper and complete medical charts; Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, Pet health needs, any diagnosis or treatment, hospital services and other issues; Understand and follow state guidelines regarding duties of veterinary assistants and licensed veterinary technicians; Ensure the safety of Pets, clients and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols, and maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas, exam rooms and labs; Perform other duties as assigned.</p>
<p>Requirements: Reads, writes and speaks fluent English, using appropriate grammar, style and vocabulary; Manages multiple tasks at one time; quickly and accurately shifts attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy or appearance of frustration; Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems; Demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments; Accurately and consistently follows instructions delivered in an oral, written or diagram format; Consistently ensures the team provides the client with attentive, courteous and informative service; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to compute rate, ratio and percent; ability to convert units of measurement; Comfortably and confidently uses a computer and specialized software, primarily Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.</p>
<p>The candidates who will fill this position should have Ability to be confident around Pets; Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time; Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability; Client needs and work volume may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job; Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds; Requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform duties while at hospital; Associate is routinely exposed to a variety of Pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances.</p>

<p>As an integral member of the Army veterinary team, the Animal Care Specialist supervises or provides care, management, treatment and sanitary conditions for Army animals under the supervision of a Veterinary Corps officer.</p>
<p>Requirements: Must be between the ages of 17-41; Must be a U.S. Citizen; Must have a High School Diploma; No History of Drug Use. </p>
<p>Job training for an Animal Care Specialist consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you&#8217;ll learn basic Soldiering skills, and seven to 52 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in animal care.</p>
<p>Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field. Some of the skills you learn are: Emergency medical techniques; Patient care techniques; Plaster-casting techniques; Methods of sterilizing surgical equipment.</p>

The <a title="Veterinary Internship" href="http://bestvetstore.com/vetjobs/search/Veterinary+Internship">Veterinary Internship</a> Program provides an industrial research experience to highly-qualified individuals who have interest in laboratory animal medicine, pathology, comparative medicine, or related areas in biomedical research.</p>
<p>The internships are intended for veterinary students, veterinary residents, or veterinary graduate students in pathology, laboratory animal medicine, or a related field (pharmacology, toxicology etc.). Applicants must be currently enrolled in a veterinary school, or a veterinary graduate currently enrolled in or having recently completed a residency or research training in the biomedical sciences.</p>

Licensed in Ohio as a Veterinary Technician; computer literacy; good interpersonal skills to work and communicate with all levels of employees and vendors; ability to understand and follow detailed scientific instructions. <span id="more-2024"></span><br />
Required Licensure: Licensed in Ohio as a Veterinary Technician.  <a title="American Association for Laboratory Animal Science" href="http://www.aalas.org/" target="_blank">AALAS</a> certification preferred.  Must have a valid Ohio Driver&#8217;s license and a good, safe driving record to drive a Foundation vehicle.</p>
<p>Duties and Responsibilities: Assists investigators, PIs, the veterinarian and the animal care staff with performing technical procedures; monitors the health and well-being of all animals housed in the <a title="Biological Resources Unit" href="http://www.cambridgecancer.org.uk/reps/pdfs/crireportsections2008/biological_resources_unit.pdf" target="_blank">Biological Resources Unit</a> (BRU); Maintains accurate records and ensures that areas that require medical supplies are adequately supplied, under the supervision of The Biological Resources Unit Veterinarian.</p>
<p>Required Physical: Animal care is a 7-day per week, 365-days per year job, must be able to tolerate unpleasant odors and sights; significant amount of standing, bending, and walking; Ability to lift and transport supplies, equipment, and/or animals weighing over 50 pounds; must have the ability to complete the job before leaving work.</p>
<p>Must be willing to be trained to properly handle all species of animals housed within the BRU. May be required to work with biological, chemical, and radiation hazards after proper training. Must be enrolled in the Occupational Health Program of the BRU.
