Its staff, faculty, and students impart an uncommon sense of larger purpose and contribute creative ideas and best practices to further the university’s mission of teaching, research, and outreach.The responsibilities of the position will include: acting as Associate Director, providing leadership for the four regional QMPS milk bacteriology laboratories; Co-supervise four QMPS laboratory supervisors and day to day management of the QMPS molecular laboratory. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain extramurally funded applied research and collaborative programs in milk quality and mastitis. Programs that interface with existing AHDC, Departmental, College, and/or University initiatives will be preferred. The candidate is expected to participate in the teaching of milk quality related courses and education programs for veterinary students, veterinarians, farmers and industry employees. There are also opportunities for instruction of graduate students/residents.
Qualifications: Qualifications of the successful candidate will include a DVM and/or PhD degree, relevant advanced training or proven skills in clinical bacteriology. An evident interest in milk quality and mastitis is a benefit. The successful candidate is expected to have advanced training or demonstrated experience in molecular bacteriology. This appointment will be at the level of Senior Research Associate.
