Maintain animal medical records. Routinely conduct animal medical rounds to monitor health status and well being of the animals and performs treatments. Assist vets with the care of the animals (ie. diagnostic sample collections, dental care, clinical care, radiographs and other routine diagnostic procedures). Responsible for providing care to pre-, peri- and post-operative animals. Able to conduct anesthesia with minimal supervision. Maintain & review surgical and anesthetic animal medical records. Maintain medical equipment, surgical suite and pharmacy inventory. Provide assistance to the PR&D investigators to support in vivo studies (ie. dosing, blood collection and surgery models). Technically proficient in vivo skills with all species of animals in the facility. High level of direct interaction/communication with investigators with minimum supervision. Previous experience (with a minimum of AALAS LAT certification) or education (BS degree, RVT) in an animal-related field. MUST be able to work weekends and holidays.
